Youth Development, Service Learning and Schooling by Nicole Gilding and Margaret Wallace
This paper argues that service learning in schools is a powerful potential vehicle for the systemic adoption of a positive youth development approach across the curriculum. It provides a basis for discussion and further strategic policy and program development about service learning in school sectors. It establishes the connections between youth development and service learning, in order to explore the benefits of these approaches for young people, their communities and one of the key institutions effecting the lives of young Australians.
